Travis Kelce is already hitting the headlines, only weeks before the Kansas City Chiefs’ OTAs start. In anticipation of the 2026 NFL season, Kelce seems focused on juggling his football preparation with his business and media obligations, despite fans’ ongoing doubts about his return.

Tight End University officially announced Kelce as host for Year 6 of the event that he created alongside George Kittle and Greg Olsen. TEU’s official Instagram page created the buzz throughout the NFL world, confirming Kelce’s comeback.

“Please welcome back your official hosts of Tight End University Year 6!” said the caption.

At the age of 36, there was speculation that the TE may retire, but Kelce continued to commit himself to both football and business ventures. His decision to return to the Chiefs will also allow the QB Patrick Mahomes to play with one of his most trusted offensive partners, and he can rely on him while heading into another season.

The GM, Brett Veach, also gave some insight on Kelce’s return on SiriusXM Radio

“We knew early on that he was coming back, which was very helpful and beneficial for us because we attached our free-agency plan and had already put away and allocated (money) for Travis. It helped free us up and be more decisive and carry through with our plan.”

As OTAs approach, the Chiefs are expected to closely examine Kelce’s workload while continuing to depend on his leadership and experience. His presence remains important for a roster competing for another Super Bowl appearance.

Travis Kelce’s Responsibilities And Influence Beyond the Football World

Travis Kelce’s popularity has expanded far beyond the NFL over the last few years. Right from podcast appearances to media projects and sponsorships, he has built a strong personal brand alongside his football career.

In April 2026, it was reported that Garage Beer, the Ohio-based light beer brand owned by Travis and Jason Kelce, reached a valuation of approximately $200 million. The brand made a major splash at the 2026 Masters in Augusta through a partnership with the trendy golf brand Malbon.

His relationship with the global music star, Taylor Swift, drew more attention to the Chiefs' organization and the NFL. The increased spotlight has made Kelce the talk of the town. Yet, he is focused on the field and remains one of the league’s most experienced tight ends.

With OTAs arriving, all eyes will be on how prepared Kelce is for another season in Kansas City.
