Talk about Aaron Donald possibly returning to the NFL has come up after a recent Travis Kelce conversation brought the topic back into focus.

On the New Heights episode, Aaron Donald’s retirement came up, along with questions about any contact or chances of a comeback, and Travis Kelce also gave his clear view on the situation during the discussion.

“I don’t think he should come back,” Kelce said. “I think he’s good, guys. I think he’s good.”

Aaron Donald earned a Pro Bowl selection in each of his ten seasons in Los Angeles. His 100+ sacks would certainly pair well with Myles Garrett's sack prowess.

"He’s hanging around, enjoying life, there’s a lot to do, dude. Look at Jason right now,” Kelce further said.

The discussion involved NFL star Myles Garrett as the guest, who was asked by hosts Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce about Aaron Donald’s retirement, any contact with him, and the chances of a possible comeback.

Donald officially announced his retirement from football in March 2024, closing the chapter on one of the most successful careers by a defensive player.

In his 10 NFL seasons, he made 111 sacks, 543 tackles, 176 tackles for loss, and 260 quarterback hits, along with 24 forced fumbles.

He also won Defensive Player of the Year three times and was named All-Pro many times. In his 2018 campaign, he registered 20.5 sacks, not too far off the league record of 23, set by Garrett himself last year.

Even in his last season in 2023, he still had 8 sacks and 16 QB hits, showing he was still playing at a high level before retiring.

Donald’s career numbers show that he retired as one of the best defensive players in the game. That is why even talking about a possible return still gets attention. Even in his last season, he registered eight sacks in 16 outings.

Amid this ongoing discussion, Eric D. also shared his clear view on the situation.

Eric D. on Aaron Donald's Return

Eric recently talked about Aaron Donald’s retirement and suggested a possible comeback idea alongside Myles Garrett, which has now started a discussion among NFL fans and around the league.

“Stay retired,” he told TMZ Sports when asked about Donald. “Enjoy retirement, man. Aaron did what he did.”

The running back feels that Donald has already done everything in his career and does not need to return to the NFL.

“He’s such a great player,” the veteran player added. “I loved to watch him play. If he wants to come back and play, play. But why? What does he have to prove? He has nothing to prove.”

For now, the discussion remains only talk, with fans still debating whether the Rams legend should return or not.
