Last season, the Las Vegas Raiders opened with a Week 1 victory over the New England Patriots, but the team soon collapsed, finishing with a miserable 3-14 record. As the 2026 season approaches, minority owner Tom Brady is far from pleased with how the team performed.
“Last year, we just underperformed in every area. And it's everybody's fault. That's the reality. There's nobody who did a good job. There's not one player in the organization, there's not anybody involved, that did the job to the level that it needs to be done at. And everybody needs to improve,” said Brady in his conversation on the Stick To Football podcast.
As a minority owner, the Raiders' decline has hit Tom Brady hard. But with offensive mastermind Klint Kubiak taking charge and No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza under center, he believes a turnaround is finally within reach.

“A massive improvement. And I would expect daily improvement, and I'd expect hourly improvement," Brady said on the Stick To Football podcast. "I really would. Every day that goes by, when you're on a good team, every day and every week go by, you should be better."
The Las Vegas Raiders have been in decline for years. Over the last decade, they have managed just two winning seasons. On top of that, they haven't won a playoff game since 2002 and haven't hoisted the Lombardi Trophy since the 1983 season.
If that’s not heartbreaking enough, the team holds a disastrous 7-27 record over the last two seasons. The NFL icon expects his team to settle for nothing less than excellence, and he's making sure the entire franchise feels the pressure.
Brady is demanding results, but one NFL analyst believes he needs to be more involved with the team.
Mike Florio challenges Tom Brady's message to the Raiders
While the Raiders could use Brady's guidance, they may not get much of it during the season. With Sundays occupied by his broadcasting duties, Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio has questioned how Brady can balance his media role with his responsibilities to the franchise.
“If it does start with Tom, I know he may not like this. Tom, if it does start with you, what are you doing working for Fox? What are you doing? Doing anything other than the thing that the Norway fans are doing with the row, or if you're doing anything other than sitting in the boat with the rest of the team pulling an oar, it really doesn't start with you,” said Mike Florio on NBC Sports Pro Football Talk.
Tom Brady said the change starts with him during his appearance on the Stick to Football podcast, but according to Mike Florio, it will be nearly impossible for him to juggle both responsibilities.
"To the extent that that starts with him, no, he didn't do a very good job of it last year. That's been the biggest counter to the whole concept of the conflict of interest that Brady clearly has,” Florio added.
Brady's comments have now put him in a difficult position. Will he spend time guiding the Raiders to victory, or will he focus on his broadcasting duties? What do you think? Tell us in the comments.
