Jauan Jennings signed a $13 million deal with the Vikings despite strong interest from the Kansas City Chiefs. NFL insider Adam Schefter confirmed the Chiefs were among several teams monitoring the former 49ers wide receiver.

During an appearance on 'The Pat McAfee Show,' NFL insider Adam Schefter detailed Jauan Jennings' new contract with the Minnesota Vikings, while also discussing other interested teams.

Schefter said, "There were a few other teams. I think it was the Dolphins, the Commanders. The Vikings were the only team that I believe he wound up visiting at all. That was the only one. The other team, oh, the Chiefs and Commanders also were interested in Jauan Jennings. "

"Also expressed little interest. Washington, Kansas City, but ultimately, he got a one-year deal for Minnesota worth up to $13 million. It's about $8 million in base pay," he added.

He also stated that teams generally prefer to complete contract negotiations as early as possible, but the player’s camp still managed to turn the situation into a positive outcome.

Jennings had built a reputation as a reliable third-down target and physical blocker during his time with the San Francisco 49ers.

He was drafted by the team in the 2020 NFL Draft in the seventh round, No. 217 overall. Last season, he played in 15 games, starting all, and recorded 55 receptions for 643 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

However, after multiple Super Bowl appearances, the Kansas City Chiefs continue seeking upgrades that could keep the team among the AFC's top teams in 2026.

The Make or Break Games For the Chiefs in the 2026 Season

With the release of the NFL schedule 2026, the Chiefs face one of the toughest schedules. They will have six primetime games, and they will be hosting three of them.

These matchups are critical to the team's postseason seeding. The Chiefs will be playing the second week straight with the Rams after facing the Buffalo Bills. It is one of the most star-studded teams in the league with solid younger players to rely on.

Buffalo will welcome the Chiefs on Thanksgiving night. The Bills have won five straight matchups against the Chiefs in the regular season. The Chiefs will travel for 3 weeks consecutively. Kansas City must remain sharp against a Buffalo team that has dominated its recent regular-season meetings.

How can the Seattle Seahawks be missed, the defending Super Bowl Champions? The Sunday Night Football game will put Andy Reid's offense against Mike MacDonald's brilliant defense.

Also, this match is one week prior to the Chiefs' division matchup at Denver. The KCC will surely have a good gut check when they play Seattle.
