QB Who Claimed he's Better than Mahomes Makes Feelings Clear on NFL Players Playing in Olympics

Darrell Doucette was already under the spotlight for comparison himself to Patrick Mahomes. Now, he's being talked about for his flag football claim.
"I think it’s disrespectful that they just automatically assume that they’re able to just join the Olympic team because of the person that they are," Doucette told the New York Post. "They didn’t help grow this game to get to the Olympics.
Flag football makes its debut at the upcoming Los Angeles Olympic Games. And United States flag football quarterback Doucette is openly pushing back against this sudden influx of traditional professional talent, viewing it as an overwhelming interest from millionaire athletes as an unearned shortcut.
It's not the first time that he's talked about it. We heard him do so a year ago, and more recently, after league owners met at the Spring League Meeting. After the meeting, pros could qualify for a spot in the flag football.
And it didn't work for Doucette, especially considering he's been a part of the team and leading it since 2020. We can still see how much an impact he brings. On Saturday, Team USA went 3-0 with a 106-44 scoring margin, with Doucette named MVP.

Patrick Mahomes is one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, passing 3,587 yards and 22 touchdowns with a quarterback rating of 68.5. That too, was in a season with an injury. And Doucette fanned the flames.
"I'm not saying I'm a better player overall but until he steps on a 5v5 flag field, I'm going to feel that way until it's proven otherwise! I'm a competitor and need to be proven wrong."
But even if Mahomes wanted to play, he may not have been able start at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic because of his injury. But come 2028, do you think he's the best candidate to take the QB spot.
