Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Mahomes continue to make an impact in Kansas City, and people are recognizing their work, with the latest update arriving yesterday on Instagram.
At an event held at CPKC Stadium on May 6, Mahomes' wife, Brittany, accepted the Champion for Change Award from United WE. Later, Brittany Mahomes shared the moment on Instagram, posting a photo of herself holding the award.
“Such an inspiring morning with @unitedwe__ celebrating progress and influencing action! It was such an honour to receive the inaugural Champion for Change award in the stadium that represents what it looks like when women’s needs are prioritized in sports and in the workplace,” her caption reads.
Mahomes was recognized because she helped bring back one of the biggest changes in the growth of the Kansas City Current.
One of the reasons behind the club’s rise was the opening of CPKC Stadium in 2024. The $140 million project gave the Current its own permanent home and changed how the club operated financially.
“No better place to celebrate women than a stadium built for women!” Brittany Caption continued.
On the same post, Patrick Mahomes soon commented with his support.
“Congrats babe! You deserve it! Love you!” read his comment.
Before the stadium, the team was still building its identity. After the move, matchday income, sponsorship deals, ticket sales, and fan spending all started flowing through one place.
That helped push annual revenue up to about $36 million, the highest in the National Women's Soccer League. That financial jump also helped lift the club’s value to about $325 million, making the Current the second-most valuable team in the league.
Away from the off-field recognition of his wife, the quarterback even gave the Chiefs another reason to be hopeful for week 1.
Patrick Mahomes' Recovery Update Brings Good News for the Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs are getting good signs about Patrick Mahomes as the quarterback continues his recovery from the injury that ended his 2025 season.
As per Arrowhead Addict, the latest update indicates Mahomes is moving in the right direction. His injury from the last season created uncertainty around the start of 2026.
During a recent appearance on a Bleacher Report show, NFL insider James Palmer shared what he has been hearing about Mahomes’ progress.
“I think all sides are pointing to a very, very good recovery with Patrick Mahomes right now. He is ahead of schedule in a lot of people's minds… But this is all pointing towards him playing in Week 1,” Palmer stated.
For Kansas City, that changes the outlook of the early season. The team added Justin Fields as backup to add meaningful depth. But if available, Mahomes remains the center of every plan in the Chiefs.
