It would seem that Patrick Mahomes ' off-field impact is as strong as his on-field one, leading to a million-dollar benefit for a noble cause.

An annual charity event, ‘Big Slick,’ collected millions of dollars for Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, even after holding two events instead of three. Sports journalist Farzin Vousoughian posted the news via X.

“Big Slick KC raised $4.2 million for Children’s Mercy Hospital! What a special night, “Vousoughian's X post read.

On Saturday night at the T-Mobile Center, the event broke its own records for individual prizes twice. Mahomes was a part of this show. And by the end of the event, Big Slick had raised a total of $4,241,814.

The Charity event was founded in 2010 by Paul Rudd and Jason Sudeikis to raise money for Children's Mercy.

Out of this amount, more than $500,000 came from live auction items sold during the event. A 'Ted Lasso' premiere package became the top item, getting a record $360,000, while other auctions like movie premieres and set visits brought in high donations.

Even though the total was very high, it was less than last year, when they raised $4.5 million, in which the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, and tight end Travis Kelce, contributed their part, breaking the record of 2024, where they raised $3.9 million.

“It was awesome being at Children's Mercy to do so many great things for these kids, especially around this area," Mahomes said in the past. "It's something we've been talking about for a while, and I'm glad to see it finally coming to fruition.”

But other than the offseason charity cause, attention goes back to his Week 1 availability in September.

Mahomes Gives Update on His Injury Recovery Timeline

Patrick Mahomes stepped back onto the practice field as the Chiefs opened OTAs, with another careful phase in his return from a torn ACL.

As per AOL’s Jared Bush, Mahomes spoke after practice about how his recovery is shaping up and how the team is managing his workload during early offseason sessions. Mahomes said he is slowly being integrated into team activities.

Mahomes joined 7 on 7 drills but stayed out of full 11 on 11 work and wore a brace on his left leg during practice.

He wants to return fully, but the medical and training staff are guiding his recovery through set checkpoints. He is now focusing on rebuilding his running and cutting ability while the staff continues to limit contact to keep him protected as he progresses.

“It’s good to be back on the field and just be with the guys more than anything. You kind of have like these week-to-week checkpoints where I gotta get to,” Mahomes said. ”The biggest thing for me now is kind of getting to the running and cutting, and I’ve started that stuff.”

With the confidence Mahomes is showing in himself for his Week 1 appearance, do you think he will be ready when the 2026 season kicks off? Let us know!
