Patrick Mahomes continues to silence concerns around his injury recovery, and this time with a confident outing at a Las Vegas charity event.

Mahomes attended the 15th and the Mahomies Las Vegas Golf Classic charity event.  On May 15, the Chiefs star shared a video of himself playing golf just five months after surgery to repair the torn ACL and LCL in his left knee, which SleeperChiefs shared via X.

” Knee looks fine to me,” their caption reads.

Mahomes’ latest appearance showed several positive signs in his recovery process during the golf event. The Chiefs star also wore a compression sleeve while comfortably shifting weight on his leg.

Interestingly, Mahomes made his appearance at the charity golf event on the same day Kansas City revealed its upcoming NFL schedule. The Chiefs will kick off their season against the Denver Broncos on September 14, and all eyes will be on Mahomes’ recovery.

Still, the star quarterback is approaching rehab better than expected, handling intense 8-9-hour training sessions without any disruptions and is already ' ahead of schedule'.

The injury he endured last December takes 9 to 12 months to recover, but the QB is already approaching it well. Nearly two months ago, Mahomes confidently took a five-step dropback and threw the ball during an indoor practice session, as seen in a video shared online.

Even with Mahomes showing visible progress during his recovery, the biggest reassurance came directly from head coach Andy Reid.

Andy Reid’s Shares Latest Mahomes Update

The Kansas City Chiefs finally received a positive sign on Patrick Mahomes’ recovery as head coach Andy Reid shared a fresh update ahead of the team’s 2026 season opener.

As per Bleacher Report, Reid did not confirm Mahomes’ Week 1 return against the Denver Broncos, but his words strongly hinted that the star quarterback is moving in the right direction after undergoing major knee surgery in December. During his appearance on The Rich Eisen Show, he said:

“He's getting better every day, he's not taking any setbacks. It's a day-to-day thing, and as long as he keeps making progress forward, maybe we'll have a chance to see him in the first game. But we'll play that as we go."

Furthermore, the Chiefs now have support for Mahomes with Justin Fields as the primary backup and Garrett Nussmeier, who is going to learn under Reid and Mahomes' guidance.

What do you think about the way Mahomes is handling his recovery progress? Will he be able to maintain his on-field performance at the same level?
