Patrick Mahomes added another big milestone to his career on Sunday, but he had to work for it. The Kansas City Chiefs held off the Miami Dolphins 24-10 to move to 3-0, with Mahomes also matching Tom Brady’s win total through his first 150 NFL starts.

The Chiefs quarterback finished with 247 passing yards and two touchdowns. He completed 20 of 24 passes and started the game by connecting on his first 11 attempts. Miami, though, stayed within reach for much of the afternoon before Kansas City pulled away late.

“Patrick Mahomes passes Tom Brady for the 3rd-most wins by a QB in their first 10 seasons,” FOX Sports posted on X on September 28.

With the win, Mahomes now has 115 victories in his first 150 starts, counting both the regular season and playoffs. Brady had the same number through his first 150 starts.

Miami actually finished with more than nine minutes of possession time than Kansas City, while the Chiefs had a slim 334-329 advantage in total yards, according to FOX Sports.

Kenneth Walker scored twice and ran for 70 yards. Travis Kelce added 59 yards on two catches, including a 48-yard grab, while Rashee Rice finished with seven catches for 88 yards.

While the win added another milestone, Mahomes wasn't completely satisfied with the performance.

Why does Patrick Mahomes think the Chiefs still have work to do?

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are 3-0, but the quarterback knows Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins was far from perfect.

Kansas City came away with a 24-10 victory, though the offense slowed down during the middle part of the game.

“At the end of the day, we won the football game, and we found a way to win and win by two touchdowns,” Mahomes said, according to Chiefs Wire. “Obviously, we didn't play to our standard that we would hold for ourselves, especially in that middle part offensively of the game, kind of second quarter through third quarter.”

Mahomes completed 20 of 24 passes for 246 yards and two touchdowns while posting a 119.8 passer rating. He also moved past Matthew Stafford for 474 passes of at least 20 yards since 2017, with only Jared Goff ahead of him.

“I wouldn't say I feel disappointed. I'm happy for the win,” Mahomes said. “But I know we can be better. I know we can get better.”

The quarterback added that watching the tape, having a better week of practice and communicating across the offense and team will be important moving forward.

His 119.8 rating also marked his 64th game with a passer rating of at least 100.0, the most in Chiefs history and the fourth-most among quarterbacks since 2017.
