Texas Star Excited to Play With 3x Super Bowl Winner Ahead of 2026 Campaign

A potential Chiefs draft target has made his intentions clear. Texas star David Bailey told media at the NFL scouting combine that he would be 'honored' to join the reigning champions and play alongside defensive stalwart Chris Jones.
"Yeah, I have met with the Kansas City Chiefs. A great team, a great staff. I really enjoyed my meeting there. I'd be honored to rush alongside Chris Jones. It was just a comfortable meeting; I felt comfortable with them."
The Chiefs’ biggest struggle last season was a lack of consistent pressure, finishing tied for 22nd in the league with just 35 sacks. With 14.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for loss, David Bailey could provide the explosive pass rush Kansas City needs to protect its leads.
If Bailey comes to the Chiefs, he will be getting a chance to learn from elite defenders like Chris Jones closely about his professional experiences.
On the other side, the team will be getting a game-changer who will be able to consistently pass rush, giving more turnover that gives chances to Mahomes to dominate the game.
Who Else Might Target David Bailey in the Draft?
David Bailey, with his performances, increases his chances of being in multiple teams. While he shows his intention to be with the Chiefs, many teams can pick him up.
Both the New York Jets and the Tennessee Titans need to improve their pass rush and could select Bailey with their top-five picks, creating stiff competition for the Chiefs.
Another team that can be a barrier for the Chiefs' plan is the New Orleans Saints, who are just one spot ahead at No. 8. They see the Texas player as a smart choice for their roster because Bailey is highly talented. And the competition to draft him is growing among the teams.
