Travis Kelce traded in the football field for Augusta National this Friday, making waves at one of golf's most famous venues.

His appearance at The Masters wasn't just a celebrity cameo; it caused a huge uproar online that had nothing to do with birdies or bogeys.

"Travis has arrived in Augusta,"  Golf On CBS made it official on Instagram, posting a photo of Kelce at the grounds with a caption.

That one post was enough to set the internet on fire, and fans weren't exactly rolling out the welcome mat for Kelce's appearance on the Masters.

There was already a lot of media attention on Kelce when he got to Augusta because rumors about his upcoming wedding to Taylor Swift had been making headlines for days.

The Masters is known for having a strict, no-distractions culture, and that level of tabloid heat doesn't really fit in with it. The tournament doesn't allow phones and values good behavior above all else.

Still, fans had very different opinions about the event. Some people wanted the circus to stay out, but others said he had the right to enjoy the event.

Fans Didn't Hold Back While Reacting To Kelce's Augusta Arrival

The Golf On CBS Instagram post confirming Kelce's arrival at Augusta didn't just get a lot of likes; it also sparked strong opinions.

People who supported The Masters' sacred traditions were especially loud, making it clear that not everyone was happy to see football's biggest star walk through Augusta's gates.

"Keep the trash away," one fan wrote bluntly.

Augusta National is one of golf's most traditional courses, and for purists, Kelce's presence in the tabloids was an unwanted distraction from the competition.

"Why is anyone surprised — he is a golfer?" another pushed back. 

On the New Heights podcast, Kelce and Jason have talked about how much they love golf. This makes his appearance at Augusta much more personal than a celebrity stunt.

"Who is this? Important? I don't think so!" read another reaction. 

Because of his relationship with Taylor Swift, Kelce is one of the most talked-about athletes in the world. Some Masters fans just wanted the pop culture noise to stay away from Augusta's gates.

"Hey Gilligan… no need for a disguise, nobody cares you're there," a user commented.

Some fans threw insults at Kelce's bucket hat and sunglasses look. The effort to fit in had already failed when Golf On CBS told thousands of online followers that he was coming.

"Who cares about that man child," was another reaction that surfaced in the comments. 

For fans who like their athletes down-to-earth and drama-free, Kelce's larger-than-life personality can be tiring even when he isn't doing anything wrong. The reactions made it clear that Kelce's trip to Augusta was never going to be just about golf.
