Kansas City Chiefs’ unofficial depth chart for 2026 preseason: analyzing key players

The Kansas City Chiefs have put out their “Unofficial Depth Chart” for the 2026 preseason, giving an early look at how the roster is lined up.

Chris Oladokun is listed at quarterback, while Esa Pole and Jaylon Moore are listed at the top of the tackle spots. Creed Humphrey, Trey Smith and Kingsley Suamataia are also in the first group along the offensive line.

At tight end, Travis Kelce remains at the top, with Noah Gray and Jared Wiley behind him. Xavier Worthy is listed first at one wide receiver spot, while Jalen Royals is second at another.

On defense, Chris Jones leads the defensive line, with George Karlaftis also listed first at his position.

Nick Bolton and Drue Tranquill headline the linebacker group, while Nohl Williams and Kristian Fulton are currently at the top of the cornerback listings, according to the Chiefs ' official website.

Harrison Butker remains the first-choice kicker, with Matt Araiza listed as the punter and holder.

The 2026 depth chart reflects major roster turnover after last year’s 6-11 collapse. That 6-11 finish ended a 10-year playoff streak (the second-longest in NFL history at the time) and marked Kansas City’s first postseason absence since 2014.

Several 2025 starters are gone or moved, while younger players such as Nohl Williams, Cyrus Allen, and Kingsley Suamataia are now listed high. How these camp battles resolve will heavily shape the Week 1 lineup against Denver.

While the depth chart offers an early picture of the roster, the intensity of training camp is already giving Kansas City plenty to watch.

Kansas City Chiefs camp takes an intense turn ahead of 2026

With the team trying to get back on track, practices have been competitive, including a recent altercation involving running back Kenneth Walker III.

“Going against the same guys and just being competitive, I think that's what's been great about this camp,” Mahomes said, via ESPN as published by Big Lead.

Mahomes is entering his 10th season with Kansas City and has already won three Super Bowls and two MVP awards. He also missed time last season after tearing his ACL and LCL.

“It's super competitive on both sides, so little scuffles here and there but nothing crazy. As long as we keep it like that and keep competing, that's where you get the best team you can get,” Mahomes added.

The Chiefs open the 2026 season against the Denver Broncos on September 14.
