George Kittle finally revealed the story behind his controversial "F**k Dallas" T-shirt from the 2023 win over the Cowboys during his appearance on the New Heights podcast.

During his appearance on the New Heights podcast, Travis and Jason Kelce asked Kittle about the infamous shirt, prompting the 49ers tight end to reveal that he still keeps it in his locker.

“I wore it for my photo shoot yesterday for media day,” Kittle said at the podcast. “It’s in my locker every day. Every day, it’s in my locker.”

Jason then asked Kittle what inspired him to wear the T-shirt. Speaking on the New Heights podcast, Kittle revealed that he took inspiration from former linebacker Gary Plummer.

“So I learned the history of the Niners, and one of the images that was shown to us was Gary Plummer, he was a linebacker, and he was wearing this ‘F***k Dallas’ T-shirt pregame of a game versus Dallas. And I was like, at some point in my career, I want to do that, and so I’ve had the photo saved on my phone for like nine years,” Kittle said.

The seven-time Pro Bowler revealed that he bought the T-shirt for his entire team, but none of his teammates joined in. He was the only one who wore it under his uniform.

The 49ers ultimately won that match by a 42-10 score at Levi's Stadium, with Kittle catching three touchdowns.

Later in the conversation, the discussion shifted from the memorable Cowboys game to Kittle's recovery from his Achilles injury.

George Kittle shares latest rehab update

Kittle suffered an injury when he tore his right Achilles tendon during the 49ers’ playoff win over the Philadelphia Eagles on January 11.

He later underwent surgery and has spent the offseason working through his rehabilitation program. At the New Heights podcast, Kittle revealed that his rehab has been going on point.

“Rehab's going great. I got, you know, the AlterG treadmills—the anti-gravity stuff. I'm at 100% body weight, going at 9 miles an hour jogging, so I think I'm ahead of schedule. We just started our jumping series, doing some 1080 walks and some marching stuff. So, we're out. I was in cleats for the first time yesterday. So, hey, we're back on the field, baby,” said Kittle.

As the 2026 season approaches, Kittle reiterated that there's "a chance" he'll be available for the 49ers' Week 1 opener against the Rams in Australia on Sept. 10.
