The Kansas City Chiefs have completed their list of picks for the 2026 NFL Draft, which includes names from some of the country's elite football programs.

Matt Derrick released a complete list of new drafts recruited by Andy Reid in Pittsburgh. Round 1 saw the franchise snagging Mansoor Delane from LSU and Peter Woods from Clemson. They acquired Oklahoma's R Mason Thomas in Round 2, while Jadon Canady from Oregon was picked in Round 4.

Round 5, once again, saw Kansas making two picks: Emmett Johnson from Nebraska and Cyrus Allen from Cincinnati. Lastly, Round 7 saw LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier entering the Chiefs' roster.

Overall, the Kansas City Chiefs have made a versatile selection of players from the 2026 draft class.

You have Delane, who is set to replace Trent McDuffie, followed by Woods, who has the potential to be an explosive interior lineman. Then there's R Mason Thomas from Oklahoma, who is a speed rusher with his 22 TFLs, 15.5 sacks in the last 23 games.

Don't forget Jadon Canady, the nickel corner, who allowed just 104 yards on 344 coverage snaps in 2025. Emmett Johnson, too, has 700+ rushing yards, 6 TDs respectively, and wide receiver Cyrus Allen is a Senior Bowl standout.

However, Chiefs fans do not seem very pleased about the way things are going.

Fans Feel QB Pick Has Been Wasted On Nussmeier

NFL fans have always been vocal about their likes and dislikes. So, it is no surprise that those who had conflicting feelings regarding the Kansas choices couldn't keep mum. These fans then expressed exactly what they thought on X.

"QB seems like such a waste. Granted, the 7th round is a dart throw, but why use your lottery ticket on QB. Overall, looks like they had a plan and got the guys they wanted," said a fan who was skeptical about this whole pick.

It is understandable that with Patrick Mahomes on the roster, the fan felt drafting a second QB to play second fiddle just feels unnecessary. It is even more so when the Chiefs have other areas to address, like depth at WR, OL, or secondary.

Another commenter also felt the same way.

"Why waste a pick on QB when you can get him as an UDFA," asked a fan who also seemed quite surprised with the choice.

This fan probably wanted Kansas to take the gamble with Nussmeier, as they feel he wasn't as highly valued as the others. Considering his inconsistency when it came to accuracy and susceptibility to turnovers, there was a good chance of him going undrafted.

"I’m kinda meh on this class. I like Woods and Johnson. Not sold on Delane, yet. Never heard of Canady or Allen until yesterday," said another skeptical X user.

While impressed with Peter Woods' flashes of dominance and Emmett Johnson's running and receiving ability, the fan wasn't sold on the others.

Many believe that Canady's and Allen's unfamiliarity isn't worth the hype it is generating. The same goes for Mansoor, who, despite getting praised for his shutdown abilities, came under the microscope for his steep trade cost.

The fans, it seems, have already made up their minds and given their verdict on the matter. They have called a spade a spade on what they felt was right, and now, it all comes down to the players.

If the new Kansas inductees can somehow manage to change the perception of the fans with their gameplay, it will be nothing short of a championship win in their book.

After all, who doesn't want to prove their critics wrong?
