Ex-Chiefs Star Sends 6-Word Message After Joining $6.35B Franchise

Former Chiefs tackle Jawaan Taylor has found a new home. After signing with the Atlanta Falcons, the veteran sent a clear six-word message on social media to his new team and fans.

His first move after signing with a $6.35 billion team said it all. Taylor, who used to be the right tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs, was quick to show how excited he was after signing a one-year deal with the Atlanta Falcons.

"Year 8! ATL, Let's Get It! #RiseUp," Taylor posted on X.

A short but clear message that showed how much he wanted a fresh start and how much he believed in the culture of his new team.

Taylor joins the Atlanta Falcons as the starting tackle after Kaleb McGary suddenly retired. He signed a one-year deal in the range of $5-6 million.

The Chiefs now have a real hole to fill. Taylor played for the Chiefs for three seasons, but his $20 million cap hit was a major reason why the team let him go.

The Chiefs do have Esa Pole as a backup, but if they don't add more depth to their tackle position in the upcoming draft, things could get difficult, especially with a recovering Patrick Mahomes to protect.

After parting ways with big names like Kirk Cousins and Darnell Mooney, the Falcons have been active in this year's offseason.

Atlanta Falcons Lock In Bijan Robinson Through 2027

Taylor isn't the only reason Atlanta is making headlines ,the Falcons are also securing their future at another key position.

The franchise used its fifth-year option on running back Bijan Robinson, which means he will stay with the team until the end of the 2027 season.

Robinson just finished a season that makes general managers want to act quickly. In 2025, he had the most total yards from scrimmage in the NFL, with 2,298.

The 2023 eighth-overall pick raised eyebrows last year by rushing for 1,478 yards and seven touchdowns, including a jaw-dropping 93-yard run.

He also caught 79 passes for 820 yards and four more touchdowns. He is only 24 years old, but he is already showing tremendous potential.

General manager Ian Cunningham made his admiration clear at the NFL league meetings in Phoenix.

"He is one of the best players at his position, one of the best players in the league," Cunningham said.

With key lock-ins and signings such as Jawaan Taylor and Tua Tagovailoa, the Falcons are getting ready to get back to playoff football in 2026.
