A Kansas City community event went viral after a New York Giants quarterback was seen wearing a Patrick Mahomes jersey, which quickly surprised fans online.

According to a post on X by reporter Farzin Vousoughian, Giants QB Jameis Winston attended a Play60 event in Kansas City with Chiefs RT Chukwuebuka Godrick, where he was seen wearing a Patrick Mahomes jersey while taking part in a youth program. 

“Giants QB Jameis Winston teamed up with Chiefs RT Chuk Godrick to host a Play60 event with Operation Breakthrough in Kansas City,” Farzin posted. “While sporting a Mahomes jersey.”

The NFL PLAY 60 community event took place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Operation Breakthrough facility in Kansas City.

NFL Play60 Campaign is the league’s official youth program that promotes fitness and a healthy lifestyle in 60 minutes among young fans through community events. 

Through this initiative, all 32 NFL teams work with partners to inspire the next generation to stay fit and “play 60.” 

The moment shows Jameis Winston as a former #1 overall NFL Draft pick with over 24,000 career passing yards, while Patrick Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl champion.

This difference made Winston wearing Mahomes’ jersey at a Kansas City event a talking point, with fans also reacting to the jersey on social media.
